Enhance Leadership Effectiveness through Giving and Thanks

This Thanksgiving, we reflect on the importance of creating inclusive cultures where everyone feels they genuinely matter. Let's start with GIVING. At the heart of leadership practices are the following:

  1. Give attention to what people say and how they feel. Many emotions are present right now for various reasons. Take your time and show understanding before moving on to other projects that need completion.

  2. Give your ears a chance to listen with empathy and understanding. As you pay attention to both ears, leaning in will make you more likely to connect.

  3. Give rewards to people for tasks that simplify life for you and others. One free reward is the words "Thank You."

  4. Give the gift of flexibility to accommodate the needs of others.  What policies and practices can be adjusted?

  5. Give frequent and constructive feedback. Research shows that people want feedback weekly. Be specific. After you use the phrase "Good Job," tell them what they did that was good.

Since we are more focused on gratitude this time of year than ever, the simple question is: How often do you say thank you? Who else in your life can you let them know you are grateful that you are in their life?
I want you to know that I am grateful you take the time to read my newsletters and participate in my programs and resources. Thank You!
This year is almost over, and I have provided you with resources I hope will help. More are below:

Empower Her Collective
is a platform for women leaders to learn, connect, and thrive. This community provides a space for ongoing synergy, engagement, and collaboration. We hold a monthly mastermind group to discuss pressing topics addressing current concerns. Last month, members agreed that while they knew about goal setting, they didn't always make their goals  SMART, so we identified, for example, how to measure them.
I often hear the comment, "I'm so busy that I don't have enough time to complete everything I need to, and I'm feeling overwhelmed." It's time to stop the overwhelm and replace it with a feeling of achievement and affirming self-talk. One member is growing so fast that she's looking for more harmony.
The next mastermind session will be on December 6, during which we will address what members need to do to pivot as we enter a new year and not only visualize but also achieve their goals. Who (maybe yourself) would benefit from a sisterhood to support, redirect, reinforce, and encourage? Click here for more details. I'd love referrals.

Reflection and Planner Tool: I mentioned the value of reflection. I recently created this tool because I understand the power of practicing reflection to help me move forward. I learned from John Maxwell that it's not only our experiences that we learn from but also our evaluated experiences. Click here to download it. It’s best to use this after creating your weekly success plan. If you decide to access it, I am happy to spend about 10 minutes reviewing it with you.
